Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. Her early roles on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across stage film and television and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited-edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working on the film of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place in March 2023 when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for more than a century. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway roles for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits her time between Los Angeles.
