Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for several years. She was raised by her mother in the USA. She was subjected to racial taunts and felt unloved. After she participated in an event at school and was given the highest praise for her singing when she was in the ninth grade the young girl started to gain confidence. The singer not only gained confidence because of the experience, but she also changed plans for her career. At 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 she made her first appearance on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. Her biggest break came with her role as The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her role. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC, she gained greater recognition. In addition to having a cult following as a singer, she released a solo as well as an extended version. As an activist, she is a tireless advocate in the cause of LGBT equality.
